Biography

Freshman Season (2006):  Made five appearances as a pitcher and played in 18 games...was the only freshman pitcher for the Yellowjackets...pitched 7.1 innings allowing 11 runs off 13 hits, striking out six...had a 9.82 ERA for the season and recorded a 1-0 win/loss record with the lone win coming against Northwest Nazarene (3/18/06)...struck out three batters in 1.0 innings against Incarnate Word (3/8/06)...as a batter he had 16 at bats for a .313 batting average...had five hits, scoring five runs...had two stolen bases...went 3-for-4 with two runs against Central Washington (4/11/06).

Mike Cease is a 2005 graduate of Powell County High School.  Cease played for the Deer Lodge Legion team before coming to Montana State- Billings.  He is the son of Gary Cease and Jennifer Jacobson.

"Mike is a guy that has the potential to be a two way guy for us," said head coach Chris Brown.  "He is a determined kid that has a good work ethic on and off the field.  He has had a good Legion career and I fully expect that success to carry over in his time here at MSUB."
