Year-By-Year Career Summary
2022: As a sophomore started 30 games at third base…batted .250 in 104 at-bats…scored 16 runs and drove in 17…totaled seven doubles…hit first collegiate home run on first pitch he saw on the season, on March 12 against Mary…had a season-high four hits and four RBIs on April 2 at Central Washington…scored a season-high three runs on two occasions…had a season-high five assists on April 8 against Western Oregon…posted a .919 fielding percentage in 74 chances…turned six double plays…academic all-conference selection.

2021: In first collegiate season saw action in 15 games and made two starts both as an infielder and pitcher…batted .300 with three hits in 10 at-bats…recorded first collegiate hit on April 3 at Central Washington…scored two runs…on the mound made eight appearances all out of the bullpen…totaled 18 1/3 innings pitched and struck out 10 hitters…threw a season-high five innings on May 8 against Central Washington.

2020: Redshirted. 

Thunder Basin High School: 2x all-state AA baseball player in Wyoming (2018, 2019)...student body president (2018)...student body VP (2017)...sophomore class president (2016)...a perfect 4.0 GPA and 4-year member of the honor role. Posted a 14-2 record on the mound with a career 1.59 ERA. Powell also averaged 82 hits and 56 RBI to go along with a .348 BA and 96.2 fielding percentage over the course of his high school career. 

Coach Waddoups on Powell: "Mason is a force for good in our clubhouse.  He is one of the top workers and grinders we have in the program.  He has a powerful bat that will bring some energy and charge to our line up."

Powell on choosing MSUB: "I chose MSUB for reasons both on and off the baseball field. I plan to be a high school math teacher and coach, and MSUB's rich history as a teaching college will help prepare me for my chosen profession. I also chose MSUB because this baseball team's reputation and winning mentality is exactly what I want to be a part of day in and day out. The coaching staff's level of professionalism and organization is exactly what it takes to create a championship atmosphere, and I desire nothing more than to compete for and contribute to this outstanding program. I am excited about the opportunity to play for Coach Sutton and his staff. Lastly, I chose MSUB because I love the town of Billings and the surrounding area. I am looking forward to being a Yellowjacket!"
