Junior Season (2006): Played in 43 games, starting 41...had 34 hits off 120 at bats for a .283 batting average and a .375 slugging percentage...scored 17 runs and had 16 RBI...hit eight doubles and one homerun for the season...had 45 total bases for a .381 on base percentage...had a .887 fielding percentage...went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI against Northwest Nazarene (3/17/06)...went 2-for-4 scoring two runs and an RBI against Oklahoma Panhandle (3/25/06)...went 2-for-4 with one run and four RBI against Oklahoma Panhandle (4/22/06)...had nine multi-hit games for the season with a seven-game hitting streak...finished the season ranked second in school history for single game RBI with four...scored a school record two doubles in a single game...finished the season tied for first in school history for doubles in a single season with eight.

Kyle Slater is a 2001 graduate of Big Sky High School.  Slater played baseball at Miles City Community College for two years prior to transferring to Montana State-Billings.  He is the son of Chris and Debbie of Missoula.

Slater is an elementary education major.

"We are excited to have Kyle choose MSUB and the Yellowjacket Baseball program," said head coach Chris Brown.  "He is a solid catcher defensively that can really swing it.  He is a mature young man that will provide leadership and experience.  We expect a lot out of our catchers and Kyle has proven that he can live up to those demands.  He exudes baseball and is a hard-nosed player that works hard and hustles all the time.  I know he will be a great addition to our team."
