Biography

Junior Season (2006): Appeared in and started 10 games...was the only Yellowjacket pitcher to force a decision in all 10 games finishing with a 6-4 record...started the season 0-4 but went on the win final six games in a row...pitched 63.2 innings allowing 34 runs off 61 hits...had a team leading 45 strikeouts and 4.38 earned run average...pitched six complete games during the season...pitched a complete 7.0 inning game allowing just one hit and struck out eight batters in shutout win against Lincoln University (3/28/06)...pitched a complete 7.0 inning game, striking out a career-high 11 batters in win over Oklahoma Panhandle (4/21/06)...finished the season ranked ninth in the Heartland Conference with a 4.38 ERA...named the Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Week three times...finished the season ranked first in school history for strikeouts in a single game with 11...finished the season ranked first in school history for completed games in a single season with 7...finished the season ranked second in school history for winning percentage (.600)...finished the season ranked first in school history for a single season in the following categories; victories (6), ERA (4.38), shutouts (3), strikeouts (45), strikeout ratio (6.36), and consecutive victories (6).

Kyle McBride is a 2002 graduate of Billings West High School.  McBride has played Legion baseball for the Billings Scarlet's.  He has also played for Miles City Community College and Southwest Minnesota State before transferring to MSUB.  McBride is majoring in Business Management and is the son of Rich and Lois McBride of Billings.  He has one brother, Ryan and one sister, Cristin.

"We are very excited to have Kyle be the first Yellowjacket Baseball signee," said head coach Chris Brown.  "Not only is he a very talented pitcher, but he is a great person and a solid student.  He brings leadership, competitiveness, and experience to our baseball team.  Kyle also gives us a legitimate starting pitcher that will allow us to compete immediately.  He has succeeded at the Legion level, the junior college level and has proven that he is a big-time pitcher capable of winning big-time games.  he is one of those guys you go to the ballpark to watch pitch."
