Cherokee Trail High School (Colorado): Grew up in Bozeman but attended Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, Colorado...There, he helped lead his team to a state championship in 2007...Named honorable mention all-state as a junior and earned second team all-state honors as senior...Was a second team all-conference selection and first team all-city...Hit .315 with two home runs, eight doubles and on triple as a senior.
