Joey Cooper begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Yellowjacket baseball program in 2020-21.
Cooper spent the 2020 baseball season as an assistant coach for the Bismarck Bull Moose in the Northwoods League.
In his senior season at Cal State Northridge, Cooper played in 55 games – starting 51 – and led the Big West Conference in times hit by a pitch with 21 which ranked fifth nationally. He carried a .389 on-base percentage, and graduated with a degree in liberal studies.
Prior to his time at CSUN, Cooper was an All-American selection at Palomar College, where he batted .434 in 2017 and helped his team to the California state final four.
Cooper will pursue his master’s degree in special education at MSUB. He is a native of Bakersfield, California.
