Eric Morgan enters his second season as an assistant coach at Montana State University Billings in 2020-21. His primary responsibilities include instruction of both defense and hitting.
Prior to joining the MSUB coaching staff, Morgan was the director of baseball operations at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. Before Wofford, Morgan served with new MSUB head coach, Derek Waddoups on the Salt Lake Community College baseball staff as an assistant coach. Before SLCC, he spent time as a head coach for Skyline High School and Park City High School, both in Utah. He lead Skyline to their second-best season in school history in his first year as head coach. Morgan coached at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX, where he was a volunteer assistant and player.
Morgan was a three-sport athlete in baseball, basketball and football at Skyline High School where he graduated and spent his entire prep career. Upon graduating, Morgan continued to play baseball at the College of Eastern Utah, where he was First-Team All Conference his sophomore year. He then attended St. Edwards University in Austin, TX, where he second on the team in home runs and RBI. Â
Morgan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from St. Edward’s University in 2011. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Harrisburg, PA.Â
Eric is married to Kirstyn Morgan and has two young daughters, Emery and Ava.
