Chase Hanson enters into his second season with the Montana State University Billings baseball program.
As a new addition to the coaching staff, Hanson continued to help build on the momentum of the program's historic 2024-25 campaign by guiding the Yellowjackets to another standout season in 2025-26. MSUB finished with a 26-23 overall record and an 18-11 mark in GNAC play, securing a second-place conference finish and a second consecutive postseason berth. The Yellowjackets also continued to excel individually, producing 11 All-GNAC selections and three All-West Region honorees.
Hanson joined the Yellowjackets coming off his second season of professional baseball, most recently for the Billings Mustangs in the summer of 2025. Chase excels working with outfielders and assist Coach Waddoups with the hitting. He has experience playing the outfield and also has pitched at the professional level.
Hanson was drafted in the 38th round by the Chicago Cubs out of Edison High School in Huntington Beach, CA. Instead of signing he chose to attend school and play baseball at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Following two years at UNLV Chase transferred to Orange Coast College, a top Junior College in California, and finished his playing career at Hope International University where he later signed to play professional baseball.
