Junior Season (2006): Made 13 appearances, starting eight games...pitched a total of 46.0 innings allowing 58 runs off 68 hits...struck out 29 batters and posted a 1-6 record....recorded an earned run average of 9.78 for the season...pitched a complete 7.0 inning game in shutout win against Oklahoma Panhandle (3/25/06)...finished the season striking out batters in every game pitched with a career-high five against both St. Edward's University (3/12/06) and Oklahoma Panhandle (3/25/06)...finished the season ranked third in school history for strikeouts in a single season with 29...finished the season ranked second in school history for strikeout ratio with a 5.67.

Chris Martin is a 2002 graduate of Billings West High School.  Martin has played Legion baseball for the Billings Scarlet's for two years.  He also played for the Cardinals, UNLV and Miles City Community College for two and a half years before transferring to MSUB.  He is the son of Chuck and Edna Martin of Billings. 

Martin is a business finance major.

"Chris gives us another high quality starting pitcher that has proven he can win consistently at the collegiate level, " said head coach Chris Brown.  "We are very pleased to have Chris choose MSU Billings and look forward to big things from him.  He has the ability to shut teams down and is a smart pitcher that knows how to change speeds, locations, and keep hitters off balance.  His repertoire includes a good fastball with movement, an above average change-up, and an excellent curveball.  he is a mature young man that not only excels ont he diamond, but in the classroom."
