Junior Season (2006): Appeared in 13 games, starting seven...pitched 39.1 innings allowing 31 runs off 56 hits...struck out 22 batters...had a 1-4 win/loss record and posted an earned run average of 5.03 for the season...pitched a complete 7.0 inning game allowing just one hit in 8-0 shutout win against Oklahoma Panhandle (3/26/06)...had four games with three strikeouts...finished the season ranked second in school history for single season ERA with 5.03...named Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Weed for the week of March 20-26.

Ben Lewerke is a 2003 graduate of Mason City Newman High School.  Lewerke attended North Iowa Area Community College for two years before transferring to Montana State-Billings.  He is the son of Jon and Jo Ellen Lewerke of Mason City.
