Coach Waddoups on McFarland-Smith: "Alex is an athletic 1B that has the potential to be a plus defender and to do damage offensively. He has shown a good upside and will be fun to watch as he grows and develops."

McFarland-Smith on choosing MSUB: "I really enjoyed the atmosphere at practice and meeting some of the players on MSUB's team. The coaches have been very interactive with me through the recruiting process, and since my commitment. I appreciate my head coach's approval of the coaches at MSUB as well, and I like the well-rounded options for classes and academic majors at MSUB."
