DRIVE FOR THE HIVE PROJECTS
The facility upgrade campaign called "Drive for the Hive" will address some long-standing needs in our aging facilities. Improving our facilities can help us recruit and retain high level student-athletes by improving their overall MSUB experience. Below are the current Drive for the Hive projects. Even if a project has been completed, funds are still available for donation to assist with upkeep and maintenance.
Men's Basketball Locker Room Renovation
The Yellowjacket Men's Basketball locker room is in need of a face lift and some critical updating. This Drive for the Hive project is planned for 2 phases with phase 1 being focused on the team space with updates to the carpet, paint, lockers, and graphics. Phase 2 will focus on renovating the entry area and the storage spaces used for equipment, jerseys, and gear.

Upgrading the Alterowitz Experience
Alterowitz Gym is the home to Yellowjacket Volleyball as well our Men's and Women's Basketball programs. The facility is used for far more than only Yellowjacket home games though, with rentals including High School Divisional Basketball, The MSUB Pow Wow, Science Fair, and more. Upgrades to the aging facility include a new gym floor, video board system, and hoops. The goal of this Drive for the Hive project is to enhance the fan experience for all those who step through our doors.
Yellowjacket Soccer Field Updates
After getting a much needed replacement of the artificial turf and addition of lights in the summer of 2023, the Yellowjacket Soccer Field project is making great strides. The next phase of the project is to update the team shelters, scoreboard, and bleachers as they continue to age.
Women's Basketball Locker Room Renovation - (COMPLETE)
The Yellowjacket Women's Basketball locker room renovation finished as planning during the 2022 year. The locker room now has 3 main spaces: the bathroom, the team space, and a film room. Future needs for this project will be maintenance and replacement as the tables, couches, and lockers age.
Golf Team Room - (COMPLETE)
The team room for the Yellowjacket Men's and Women's Golf programs was completed in 2023. Renovations included transforming a former racquetball court into the new team room complete with indoor golf simulator, putting green, and a storage space. Future needs for this project will be upgrading the simulator and related computer equipment as it ages as well as adding or replacing training equipment.
