Biography
A junior transfer from Hutchinson Community College, Henry finished the Black Hills State Yellowjackets – Chadron State Eagles Invitational Sunday held in Gillette, Wyo. with a put of 44-5, shattering the previous school record of 43-10.5 that was set by Courtney Zappe in 2008. The mark, which also automatically qualifiers Henry for the GNAC indoor meet, ranks fifth all-time in the GNAC and is the second longest by a GNAC thrower this winter.
She also finished fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 44-2.
Henry comes to the Yellowjacket track and field program highly decorated as she was a four-time All-American as named by the National Junior College Athletic Association, twice for indoor and twice for outdoor in the shot put event.
As a sophomore last year at Hutchinson, she was the national runner-up at the NJCAA outdoor meet. As a freshman, she was the runner-up in the NJCAA national indoor meet. Both runner-up performances came in the shot put event, but she has shown great skill in the weight and hammer throws as well.
