Outdoor Track & Field: Competed at six outdoor track meets…specialized in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles, but also ran the 4x400 twice and the 200 meters once…had the team’s fastest time in the 110-meter high hurdles (18.24), which he ran at the Battlin’ Bears/Yellowjacket Open on April 1…ran a season-best 24.30 in the 200 meters at the Trudnowski Open on April 24…placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best 1:00.58 at the Battlin’ Bears/Yellowjacket Open on April 1.
 
Indoor Track & Field: Season canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic…made the finals in the 60-meter hurdles and placed eighth with a 9.46 at the Stinger Open on Feb. 19-20…also ran the 200 meters and a leg on MSUB’s 4x400 relay team at the Stinger Open.

Turner High School: Three-sport athlete for the Tornadoes…four-year letterwinner on the track and field team…earned the Class C state title in the 300-meter hurdles…Northern Division champion…9C champion…High Point…school record holder in the 300-meter hurdles at 40.8 seconds…earned two letters as quarterback on the football team…team captain, offensive MVP, and Class B all-star game selection…four-year letterwinner as point guard on the basketball team…MVP, team captain, and all-state selection…competed in Montana all-star tournament…all-division and first-team all-conference pick…led team in steals, blocks, and assists and had highest free-throw percentage…set a personal best single-game mark of 38 points and scored more than 2,000 points in his career.
 
Welsh on choosing MSUB: “I chose MSUB because it is one of the few schools that offers the degree that I am interested in. MSUB is also much closer to family, I really like the town of Billings, and there is much more job opportunity after I am finished with college.”
