2022: As a sophomore made five appearances out of the bullpen…pitched 5 1/3 innings and carried a 6.75 ERA…struck out five hitters…threw a season-high 27 pitches on April 22 against Saint Martin’s.

2021: Made one appearance in debut collegiate season…logged 2 2/3 shutout innings against Western Oregon on April 29…had two strikeouts and allowed one baserunner…threw 40 pitches.

2020: Redshirted.

Silverton High School: Runion was a standout baseball and football player in high school...first-team all-conference in baseball and football (2018)...honorable mention kick returner(2018). Runion was also selected to play in Oregon's top prospect Futures Game and ranked #10 in the Future Stars Series combine. Two shutouts in senior year of baseball on the mound...46 innings pitched...56 strikeouts...led team in BA posting a .346 clip...11 doubles.

Coach Waddoups on Runion: "Hunter is a crafty lefty that makes it hard on hitters with his mix of pitches.  He is good match up guy on lefties and with his movement can also pitch to the right side which gives us the ability to use him in any roll."

Runion on choosing MSUB: "I chose MSUB because of the Jackets baseball coaching staff and overall team atmosphere. During my visit, I was welcomed by both the coaches and players who made me feel at home. They explained to me what it meant to them to not only be a team but a family as well. The entire coaching staff played a major role in my decision to commit, they understand the players and support all of them both on and off the field."
