2021-22: In third season, led the team in scoring average at 73.85 strokes per round…competed in five events and 13 rounds as a junior…posted a pair of top-10 finishes…shot a season-best single-round score of 69 at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational on March 29…led the Yellowjackets at the GNAC Championships, taking sixth place with a season-best three-round total of 218…scored a season-best two-round total of 149 in two events…made par or better in three rounds…posted a W-L percentage of .667 (218-109)…academic all-conference selection.
2020-21: Fall season canceled due to coronavirus pandemic…in first season with the Yellowjackets competed in nine rounds…posted a scoring average of 78.44 strokes per round…had a season-best single-round score of 73 at the Hardrocker Classic on April 13.
North Idaho College: Top golfer for North Idaho College in 2019-20...tied for first place in Northwest Athletic Conference event in Spokane, Washington after shooting two-day total of 146...team captain two years...seven top-10 finishes, four top-5 finishes...single round best score of 68.
Tekoa High School: Multi-sport athlete competing in golf, football, cross country, and basketball...All-league golfer all four years...team captain three years...player of the year as a junior and senior...honor roll student...finished second at state tournament individually on two occasions.
Allen on Strobel: "Dawson is a talented player that will bring a lot of tournament experience to our team. He has had two quality years at NIC and has been a key part of their success. Dawson is a very nice young man which the character and personality to help build on the culture of our program. He also has a lot of game. He has ownership of his golf swing, knows the shots he likes to hit and plays to his strengths especially under pressure. He comes from the Northwest and is familiar to the style of courses we play in the GNAC. We will have a veteran team next year and Dawson's attributes will fit very nicely with our group. I am very excited for him to be a 'Jacket".
