2018: Redshirted.

Murray High School: Three-time letterwinner in baseball under head coach Marce Wilson…all-state and all-region selection as a senior…as a junior was a second-team all-state shortstop and pitcher, and was a first-team all-region selection…was also selected as the MVP of the underclass all-star game.
 
Coach Sutton on Staley: "Drew comes into our program as a very strong and athletic player. He has yet to see his best baseball, and showcases a plus arm and plus bat speed. We don't know what his best position is going to be, but he projects as a serious two-way player who we expect to come in right away and help our program. He is as good as they come off the field and in the classroom, and meets the demands of being a member of Yellowjacket baseball."
 
Staley on choosing MSUB: "I chose MSUB because of the strong baseball program, and I know I'll become a better player under Coach Sutton and his staff. There's a great group of players here, and with the addition of a strong recruiting class I think we'll be able to compete with anyone."
