2020: Made five bullpen appearances in shortened season and finished with a 3-0 record, which was tied for first in the GNAC...led the team with a 1.35 earned run average in 13.1 innings pitched...allowed six hits, two earned runs, and six walks after facing 44 batters...Held opposing hitters to .136 batting average and led team with a 0.92 WHIP...Did not allow a run in four out of five appearances...Struck out season high seven on February 14 against Colorado State Pueblo over 3.0 innings...earned wins against Point Loma Nazarene, Colorado State Pueblo, and Western Oregon...Named academic all-GNAC for third straight season.

2019: Key member of MSUB’s bullpen in junior season…led the team and tied for fourth in the GNAC with 17 appearances…posted a 5.40 ERA and ranked second on the team with four saves…ate up 26 2/3 innings, striking out 26 and issuing just eight walks…posted an opponents’ batting average of .279…had a 1.49 WHIP…threw a season-high 3 1/3 innings on March 2 at WOU…had a season-high five strikeouts on May 2 against Concordia…academic all-conference for second straight season…helped the ‘Jackets claim their fourth regular-season title in the last five years and tie the school record with 33 wins…helped the team win its first-ever GNAC tournament title and claim its first-ever berth into an NCAA D2 West Region Championship tournament.

2018: Ranked second on the team with 16 appearances, including a pair of starts as a sophomore…registered 24 strikeouts against 10 walks in 35 2/3 innings pitched…posted an ERA of 6.31…was only Yellowjacket pitcher among qualifiers to not surrender a home run (170 batters faced)…threw a season-high 86 pitches and 5 2/3 innings at the College of Idaho on Feb. 17…had a career-high seven strikeouts at Northern Colorado on Feb. 25, teaming up with Steen Fredrickson to tie the school single-game record with 17 strikeouts…academic all-GNAC…helped the Yellowjackets claim the 2018 GNAC regular season title and win a program-record 33 games.

2017: Filled key role as a lefty specialist out of the bullpen as a true freshman…earned GNAC Pitcher of the Week after beginning his college career with five perfect innings of relief against No. 19 Colorado Mesa on Feb. 19…appeared in a dozen games out of the bullpen and logged 25 1/3 innings…had 17 strikeouts against 13 walks and a 6.39 ERA…had a season-best four strikeouts against Northwest Nazarene on April 7…threw a season-high 77 pitches at Northwest Nazarene on April 7.

Central Catholic High School: Won three letters as a left-handed pitcher under head coach Dan Floyd…was picked to the Mt. Hood Conference all-league team as a sophomore, junior, and senior…has been an academic Honor Roll student all four years…in 2015 as a junior, posted a record of 8-1 with a 0.96 earned run average…struck out 59 and walked just five in 58 1/3 innings pitched…also earned one letter in racquetball for the Rams.

Coach Waddoups on Muskat: "Sam is the ultimate person and performer.  An amazing teammate, student, leader, and pitcher.  He steps up in the most crucial moments of the game with composure and continues to impress. Sam will do great things for our program in baseball and life."

Muskat on choosing MSUB: "After I met with the coaches and the team I knew MSUB would be a great place to continue my baseball career. It was obvious that the players love playing for Coach Bishop and Coach Kruckenberg. Having coaches who were in-tune with their players was a very important piece of the recruiting process for me. I am excited to join the Yellowjackets in 2016."
