2021-22: Enjoyed best season of collegiate career, ranking fourth on the team with a scoring average of 75.67 strokes per round…earned a pair of GNAC Player of the Week awards…competed in 18 rounds and seven events, regularly featuring as the team’s No. 1 player…had three top-10 finishes and one top-five finish…best finish was a tie for third place at the Northwest Nazarene Invitational on March 7-8…shot a career-low score of 68 in his final collegiate event, at the GNAC Championships on April 18…ranked second on the team with six rounds at par or better…posted a season-best two-round total of 144 at the Northwest Nazarene Invitational on March 7-8…scored a season-best three-round total of 214 at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on April 4-5…posted a W-L record of 305-169 (.643)…became first player in program history to earn academic all-conference for a record four straight seasons…selected as the Men’s Golf Player of the Year at The Buzzies.
2020-21: Fall season canceled due to coronavirus pandemic…member of MSUB’s first-ever NCAA Regional Championship qualifying team…ranked third on the team with a scoring average of 76.57 strokes per round…competed in 14 rounds during the spring season…had three rounds at par or better…had one top-10 finish…had a season-low 71 on two occasions…had a season-low three-round score of 221 on April 6 at the Mustang Intercollegiate…academic all-GNAC for third straight season.
2019-20: Spring season canceled due to coronavirus pandemic…played three events as a junior, one in the fall...averaged 244.67 per event and 81.56 strokes per round...posted season best 79 in round two of the Sierra Central Wildcat Invite on October 14...had a season best 236 at the NDNU Invitational on March 9-10 and season-best single round 73 in the final round...named academic all-GNAC for second straight year.
2018-19: Played in nine events and 25 total rounds as a sophomore…ranked fourth on the team with a scoring average of 79.76 strokes per round…posted one round at par or better…notched a personal-best single-round score of 68 on October 2 at the RMC Invitational…was the lowest single-round score by any Yellowjacket on the season…had a season-best three-round total of 216 at the RMC Invitational…academic all-conference selection.
2017-18: Competed in all nine events and 26 rounds as a true freshman…logged a season scoring average of 81.3 strokes per round…had a personal-best single-round score of 74, achieved in three straight tournaments to end the season…posted a season-best three-round score of 230 at the Saint Martin’s Invitational in the fall.
Billings West High School: Was a four-year letterwinner in golf under head coach Marcus Drange…earned all-state honors for the Bears once in his career, and was a four-time academic all-state selection in the classroom.
Coach Woodin on Kaercher: “Riley comes from a great high-school golf program where he had a major role in West High’s success. Riley has a great work ethic in the classroom and on the course, and I believe his best golf is yet to come. I am looking forward to working with him.”
Kaercher on choosing MSUB: “I chose MSUB because it is close to home, it’s a great business school, and has a golf team. Also, I enjoyed playing for (former) Coach Woodin in high school and wanted the opportunity to play for him again. I knew MSUB was the perfect fit for me.”
