2016: Started 14 games and batted .271 before a season-ending injury…had four doubles and one home run while driving in 11 runs in 59 at-bats…scored 15 runs and held a slugging percentage of .390…struck out just five times and drew five walks for an on-base percentage of .333…stole two bases in four attempts…made 18 catches in left field without an error…ended the year No. 10 in MSUB history with a .302 career batting average and 11 stolen bases…academic all-GNAC for second-straight season…member of MSUB’s back-to-back GNAC regular-season championship title teams.
2015: Second-team all-GNAC pick as a left fielder…batted .309 in 39 games and 32 starts…picked up six doubles and a home run while driving in 18 and scoring 25 runs…held an on-base percentage of .384…perfect 3-for-3 stealing bases…perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with no errors in 50 chances…had four RBIs against Central Washington on April 11…academic all-conference selection.
2014: Merritt appeared in 37 games with 29 starts…recorded a .314 batting average, an on-base percentage of .445, and .395 slugging percentage…utilized plus speed to steal six bases and score 19 runs…recorded a .979 fielding percentage in the outfield…six of his 27 hits went for extra bases…drew 19 walks against just eight strikeouts in more than 100 plate appearances…did not ground into a double play…had 10 sacrifices on the season.
