BILLINGS, Mont. — Montana State University Billings and Billings Clinic have entered into a new partnership that brings Billings Clinic sports medicine and athletic training services to Yellowjacket student athletes across all 15 MSU Billings athletic programs.

As the sole sports medicine provider for MSU Billings Athletics, Billings Clinic provides athletic training coverage for approximately 256 student athletes this 2026-27 academic year. Billings Clinic sports medicine physicians and advanced practice providers also provide weekly support in the athletic training room, giving student athletes regular access to sports medicine expertise throughout the year.

"We are very excited to announce the new partnership between Yellowjacket Athletics and Billings Clinic. Having an exceptional athletic training and sports medicine team is vital to our department and the success of our student-athletes. It ensures they receive the highest level of care and support so they can perform at their best. We are looking forward to this new partnership and all of the support that Billings Clinic provides," said Andrew Bonner, Interim Director of Athletics at MSU Billings.

The Billings Clinic athletic training team at MSU Billings includes Head Athletic Trainer Mark Goldy and Assistant Athletic Trainers Blake Boulia and Brynn Jolma. Working directly with student athletes, coaches and athletics staff, the athletic trainers provide day-to-day support focused on injury prevention, evaluation and treatment, as well as helping athletes safely return to practice and competition.

The athletic training team is supported by Billings Clinic Orthopedics and Sports Medicine providers Noah Marks, MD; Guy Schmidt, MD; Chris Hines, PA; and Elie Soueidi, PA.

"Our goal is to make sure these student athletes have the support they need to stay healthy and compete safely," said Guy Schmidt, MD, orthopedic physician at Billings Clinic. "Having our athletic trainers working with athletes every day, with direct support from our Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team, allows us to work together and help athletes get the care they need and safely return to the activities they love."
