MSUB Men’s Golf Secures Runner-Up, Pramounmat Ties for First Individually

| By:
BISMARCK, N.D. — The Montana State University Billings men's golf team had a strong showing at the Marauders Invitational, finishing second overall, with freshman Mark Pramounmat sharing the top spot individually.

The Yellowjackets kicked off the tournament with an impressive team score of 291 in the first round, marking their best single round performance since the 2024 Yellowjacket Invitational. They followed that with a 309 in round two, finishing with a combined total of 600. In a competitive field of 14 teams, MSUB's B team also competed well, placing eighth with a two-round score of 622 (307-315).

Highlighting the tournament was true freshman Pramounmat who opened the tournament with a personal best three under par 69 in the opening round. Pramounmat followed that up with a 77 to combine for a 36-hole total of 146 to end regulation in a four-way tie for first. In the playoff hole, Pramounmat unfortunately fell short with Derek Anderson from Augustana chipping in for eagle to claim the individual title.

HEAR FROM COACH BUIE: "The guys fought hard through some tough wind on the back nine coming in today in Bismarck. Gusts were over 30 miles per hour making it difficult to control the golf ball. We struggled coming in but still had a solid week with a second place finish. Mark was awesome in his second collegiate event, losing to a chip-in eagle on the first playoff hole. Ryder Conner also continued his consistent play with his tied fifth place finish. Looking forward to hosting the next two weeks with a 54-hole tournament at Lake Hills on Monday and Tuesday. The men are playing well and hoping we play well on our home track."

Also finishing in the top 25 in a field of 80 competitors was Ryder Conner who tied for fifth, Aubrey Kelley who took 13th place overall, Bowdie Fox (B) who tied for 14th place, and Peyton Toney (B) who tied for 21st while shooting a 36-hole score of 147 (73-74), 150 (74-76), 151 (71-78), and 152 (76-76) respectively.

Next into the clubhouse for the Yellowjackets was Payton Black (B) who tied for 30th at 155 (76-79), Ryan Badger (IND) who tied for 34th as an individual with a two-round score of 156 (75-81), and Kaopun Akmaneenin who tied for 40th at 158 (75-83). Rounding it out for MSUB was Pete Netrnilweerachot (B) who tied for 58th at 164 (84-80), Cameron Hackmann who tied for 73rd in his Yellowjacket debut at 172 (90-82), and Trey Engellant at 181 (92-89) in 78th.
