Yellowjacket Women’s Basketball Recognized as WBCA Top 25 Academic Team

ATLANTA, Ga. – Following the release of the 2024-25 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls, the Montana State University Billings women's basketball team was recognized as one of the top academic groups in the country, finishing 14th was a cumulative GPA of 3.76.
 
"I was pleased to recently learn of our team's WBCA top 25 rating," said MSUB head coach Kevin Woodin. "It is due to a lot of hard work both on and off the court. Our players are very dedicated to their studies and value the importance of getting a degree. I can't thank my players and assistant coaches enough for all they do regarding our team's academic performance."
 
The recognition marks the fourth consecutive year the Yellowjackets have qualified for the Top 25 Honor Roll, placing seventh, tenth, and third in the past three seasons. The honor this season makes the Yellowjackets just one of two teams in the nation to be ranked inside the WBCA Top 25 Honor Roll over the past four seasons. The Yellowjackets were also recently awarded as GNAC Team Academic Champions, leading all women's basketball programs in the conference in cumulative GPA, marking the second consecutive year and seventh all-time the program has earned the honor. In addition, seven MSUB student-athletes earned Academic All-GNAC honors during the 2024-25 season, while eight players received GNAC FAR Scholar Athlete awards, and four players received Academic All-District nods.
 
On the court in 2024-25, MSUB women's basketball finished with an overall record of 25-8, winning 25 games or more for the third consecutive season, while also qualifying for the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year. It marked the Sixth NCAA Tournament trip for MSUB in the past 11 seasons, including a run to the Elite Eight in 2018, and a pair of trips to the Sweet Sixteen in 2014 and 2024.
