BILLINGS, Mont.
– The Montana State University Billings women's golf team is excited to add three new signees to its 2025–26 roster. Bringing together a mix of collegiate experience, strong high school achievements, and academic success, this trio of signees hails from across the country and abroad.
Kyleigh McGowen, a transfer from New Mexico Junior College; Hanna Boyd, from Great Falls High School; and Emy Cambuzat, from Orgeval, France, make up the 2025 signing class for the Yellowjackets women's golf team. Following a record-setting season featuring three team victories and five individual wins by
Orraya Tipasathien, the Yellowjackets look forward to strengthening their lineup with McGowen, Boyd, and Cambuzat as they prepare for the upcoming season.
"This is another strong class for us going into the fall," said head coach
Adam Buie. "Our women's team set many records in 2024–25, and I look for this squad to keep breaking them and putting their names in program history. As a program, we have been picking up a lot of momentum — not only in results, but recruiting is getting stronger and stronger because of the trajectory of the team. 1 through 10, this team is going to be competitive, and I look forward to seeing how it plays out in qualifying for our tournaments. The roster is very deep, adding three solid new pieces to it. All three of these additions are good enough to make the travel five right away and will add to our fire as a team."
Kyleigh McGowen
Hometown: Andrews, TX
Previous School: New Mexico Junior College
High School: Andrews High School
Kyleigh McGowen, a right-handed golfer from Andrews, Texas, joins the Yellowjackets as a transfer from New Mexico Junior College. During her two seasons at NMJC, she competed in 19 events and helped her team secure a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA National Championships. McGowen recorded two top 10 finishes and placed in the top 25 in 17 events. Her personal bests include a single-round score of 74 at the Chicken Express Intercollegiate, a 36-hole score of 155 at the USW Fall Invitational, and a 54-hole total of 235, also at the Chicken Express Intercollegiate.
Before her time at NMJC, McGowen was a standout at Andrews High School, where she lettered all four years in women's golf. As a senior, she won two tournaments, earned a spot on the Texas Elite All-Star Team, finished in the top 10 at the state championship, competed in the high school national tournament, and qualified for the UIL State Tournament as an individual medalist.
MCGOWEN ON CHOOSING MSUB: "There are several reasons why I chose MSUB, including the location, business programs, opportunities for growth, and the opportunity to play golf with a great program. Billings is far from home, but I feel that it will allow me the ability to see new places and meet new people. I am wanting to study Finance, and I feel that MSUB will allow me this opportunity to dive deeper into my studies while gaining a tremendous amount of knowledge."
BUIE ON MCGOWEN: "Kyleigh is coming to our program from a superb JUCO team. New Mexico Junior College has been one of the strongest in all of JUCO golf and she has been a contributing member the last two seasons. At NMJC, Kyleigh was battled tested playing a good schedule and still posting many scores in the 70s. Kyleigh will no doubt be able to make a quick adjustment to DII Golf in the West region. She was drawn to Montana and saw our rising program as a place she could help continue to climb the rankings ladder. I look for her to step right in and compete for playing time right away."
Hanna Boyd
Hometown: Great Falls, MT
High School: Great Falls High School
Hanna Boyd, a right-handed golfer from Great Falls, MT, joins the 'Jackets from Great Falls High School. A standout two-sport athlete for the Bison, she lettered all four years in golf while also playing basketball. Boyd earned Academic All-State honors and was on the honor roll from 2021 to 2024. She was named the women's golf MVP each of those years, served as team captain in 2023 and 2024, and made history as the first female in over 20 years to win Eastern Divisionals and the first in 15 years to win a home tournament in Great Falls.
A three-time All-State selection, Boyd placed 2nd at the State Tournament in 2024, 5th in 2023, and 6th in 2022. She also recorded a three-tournament win streak in high school, with a career-best round of 72 and a 36-hole best of 145.
BOYD ON CHOOSING MSUB: "I chose MSUB because all the girls that I spoke to talked very highly of the team culture and campus community. I have also had many teachers who said the teaching program is one of a kind."
BUIE ON BOYD: "Hanna is a known name around the state of Montana and established herself as one of the best players in the state at Great Falls High. She is someone I have been watching for a while now, and her growth is exciting. Hanna has made big strides the last two seasons and was nearly unbeatable in Montana AA golf this past season, winning every tournament but one, and she lost that one in a playoff. I have really enjoyed watching and getting to know Hanna during the recruiting process. It is always nice to keep top Montana talent at home and Hanna will be in position to help us immediately. She has all the right tools plus a great attitude and work ethic to keep getting better."
Emy Cambuzat
Hometown: Orgeval, France
High School: Ecole Diagonale
Emy Cambuzat, a talented right-handed golfer from Orgeval, France joins MSUB from Ecole Diagonale, a private institution known for supporting students who excel both academically and athletically. Cambuzat brings a strong international résumé to the Yellowjackets, boasting an 83.2 scoring average in the 18U European golf rankings. She recorded six sub-81 rounds in 2024-25, including a standout 78 at the Grand Prix du Lys Chantilly. Her consistent play also earned her a 9th-place finish at the Grand Prix d'Arcachon, where she posted a three-round total of 253.
In 2022, Cambuzat turned in a pair of impressive performances on the French amateur circuit, finishing 2nd at the Paris Ile-De-France Grand Prix with a 36-hole score of 160, and 5th at the Grand Prix of the Touquet League with a two-round total of 167.
CAMBUZAT ON CHOOSING MSUB: "I chose MSUB because it is the best option for me. They have a fantastic women's golf program that will suit me well and have a lot of wonderful golf courses in the Billings area. I really like the nature and mountains, and the cold doesn't scare me. I really like the university's infrastructure in addition to the wide range of studies."
BUIE ON CAMBUZAT: "Emy is adding to our international flair coming to us from France. The junior golf circuit in France is really competitive and European players are well prepared for college golf in the US. They are already playing college level distances at the courses they play. I think Emy will also be able to make an easy transition to the United States and DII Golf. She has shown the ability to shoot good scores in the 70s in regional and national events and just needs to get more consistent across the board. Emy has a ton of potential to become a great DII player for us."
