Portland, OR. – Four standout student-athletes from the Montana State University Billings women's golf team have once again been recognized for their excellence in the classroom, earning spots on the Academic All-GNAC team. The honors, announced by the conference this afternoon, mark a second straight year of recognition for all four players—with one achieving the milestone for a third consecutive season.
To qualify for Academic All-GNAC honors, student athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and be in at least their second year of competition at their current institution. Leading the Yellowjacket pack is
Meilyn Armstrong, who earns her third consecutive Academic All-GNAC nod. She's joined by
Hannah Adams,
Haylee Adams, and
Adessa Lundberg, each picking up the award for the second year in a row.
HEAR FROM COACH BUIE: "Meilyn, Hannah, Haylee, and Adessa have all been mainstays on not only the Academic All-GNAC team but also on the WGCA National Scholar Team. It is very nice to know as a coach that these four will get it done in the classroom and its nice to see them get the recognition they deserve. Being a student athlete is tough with all of the travel that we do, so I am very proud of each one of them."
Armstrong currently holds a 3.78 grade point average and plans to graduate with a degree in business management. In her career she is now a three-time Academic All-GNAC selection and made the 2022-23 WGCA All-Scholar Team. This season, Armstrong has competed in four tournaments with her best coming from the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational where she posted a 164 in 36 holes and tied for 18
th place.

Rounding out the four Academic All-GNAC selections is
Adessa Lundberg. The senior currently holds a 3.61 GPA and plans to graduate with a degree in elementary education. Lundberg has had quite the breakout year, posting an 18-hole personal record (75) at the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational, and a 54-hole personal record (270) at the Midwestern State Invitational.
