Kunze continues her collegiate career at MSUB after spending the previous two seasons at Williston State College, where she cemented herself as an impact player right away. Kunze opened her career as a freshman with the Tetons by starting 27 of the team's 32 games, shooting 56.3% from the field and scoring 12.7 points per game, while adding in 7.3 rebounds per contest. She followed up an impressive freshman campaign by taking her game to the next level in 2024-25, earning MonDak Conference MVP and picking up NJCAA All-American Third Team honors after averaging 17.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Kunze's 65.2% field goal percentage led the entirety of NJCAA Division I on the season. Kunze was named as a team captain in her time at Williston State, and was named MonDak's Player of the Week twice during the past season.

Before joining the Tetons, Kunze played high school basketball for four seasons at Malta High School, where she was a three-time First Team All-Conference and All-State selection. Kunze would score over 1,000 points in her career as a M'ette, while finishing as a top five rebounder in the school's history. Kunze also competed in four seasons of volleyball and track and field while in high school.

Coach Woodin on Kunze: "We are very excited to have Allison join our Yellowjacket women's basketball program this fall. She had a remarkable career at Williston College, earning conference MVP and All-American honors. She is an exceptional student in the classroom, and I believe Allison will have a positive, immediate impact on our team. She is an elite athlete who runs the floor with purpose. Offensively, Allison finishes very well, and she is a relentless rebounder at both ends of the court. I believe her best basketball is still to come."

Kunze on choosing MSUB: "I chose MSUB as a transfer student-athlete from Williston State College because coach Woodin and Breen have built a team with a strong foundation based on academics and a winning tradition. The MSUB campus is very nice and inviting, and being able to meet a few of the players during my visit made my decision that much easier."
