PLEASANTON, Cal. – The Montana State University Billings wrapped up the NNU Nighthawk Invitational, hosted by Northwest Nazarene at the Callippe Preserve Golf Course earlier this afternoon in Pleasanton, California. The Yellowjackets took 7^th place overall amongst a mixed field of GNAC, CCAA, and PacWest competition with Cal State East Bay ranked 12^th nationally and Sonoma State ranked 42^nd.
 
The 6,748 par-72 course hosted seven teams and 49 players for the 54-hole tournament, featuring seven golfers ranked nationally with three of them coming from Cal State East Bay. The Yellowjackets finished out their three-round tournament with a 944 (317-314-313) while ranking fifth in total birdies (28) and sixth on par threes with a 3.48 stroke average.
 
Leading the way for his second straight tournament for the Yellowjackets was true freshman Ryan Badger. After shooting a 79 in the opening round, Badger came back with a 74 in round two, and a 78 in the final round to finish out with a 231 in 32^nd place. Following close behind and was Pete Netrnilweerachot who had his best team placement of the season, coming in second for the 'Jackets and tying for 34^th overall at 234 (81-77-76). Next into the clubhouse was Hayato Ito who posted a 240 (74-85-81), coming in 41^st place overall, Kaopun Akmaneenin in 43^rd with a 244 (83-81-80), and rounding it out was Quinn Haigwood in tying for 47^th with a three-round score of 247 (86-82-79).
 
THE BUZZ: Hayato Ito earned Intermountain Health Round of the Day with a 74 in the opening round for day one, and Pete Netrnilweerachot for day two, posting a 76 in the final round of the tournament.
 
UP NEXT: The Montana State University Billings Yellowjacket men's golf team will take a short break before heading to Rapid City, South Dakota for the SD Mines Spring Hardrocker at Arrowhead Country Club that will kick off on March 31^st.
