PORTLAND, Ore.- After leading the Montana State University Billings men's basketball team to a 20-11 record and a Conference Tournament berth, two Yellowjacket seniors received All-GNAC recognition, as announced by the Great Northwest Athletic Conference earlier this afternoon.
"Extremely happy for Jalen and Kael being recognized with All-Conference honors," said head coach
Luke Fennelly. "They both work tirelessly at their craft and are always looking to improve so, its great to see all of their hard work pay off."
Kael Robinson earned the highest honor, securing a First Team All-GNAC spot in his inaugural season as a Yellowjacket. This marks the fourth consecutive year Robinson has been recognized with a conference award, having previously earned Frontier Conference Freshman of the Year (2021-22), First Team All-Frontier (2022-23), and Second Team All-Frontier (2022-23). Now, he can add a GNAC First Team selection to his impressive list.
"Kael transferred up a level and really grasped the point forward spot, which is our most important position," said coach Fennelly. "He not only has to play positions 1-5, but guard 1-5 as well. In doing so he quickly established himself as one of the best players in our league. His basketball IQ has been a dream for a coach, and he plays with a motor that relates to winning basketball."
The New Zealand native leads the Yellowjackets in scoring and ranks second in the GNAC with an average of 19.3 points per game. He has also made a league-leading 131 field goals and ranks fifth in shooting efficiency at 57%. Additionally, Robinson ranks second in the conference for total rebounds (216) and blocked shots (34), with his 34 blocks placing him 10th in MSUB's single season block records.
Adding to his list of accolades,
Jalen Tot earned Second Team All-GNAC which is his second straight season earning All-GNAC recognition, further solidifying his status as one of the program's most accomplished players. Tot's growing list of accolades includes: Second Team All-GNAC (2024-25), Preseason GNAC Player of the Year (2024-25), Preseason All-GNAC (2024-25), D2CCA West Region Player of the Year (2023-24), D2CCA First Team All-West Region (2023-24), NABC Second Team All-West Region (2023-24), GNAC Player of the Year (2023-24), First Team All-GNAC (2023-24), and GNAC Player of the Week (Feb. 19, 2024).
"Jalen's leadership and competitive spirit has helped carry this program all season," said coach Fennelly. "As the 2024 MVP and 2025 Preseason MVP, nobody had a bigger target on their back entering into conference play. He's simply a winner and I'm very proud he had yet another great season to build on his amazing career."
