Hannah Cooper Earns USTFCCCA All-West Region Honors

3/13/2025 4:29:00 PM

BILLINGS, Mont. – Following an impressive indoor season in which she set two school records and earned a pair of second place finishes at the GNAC Championships, Montana State University Billings women's track & field athlete Hannah Cooper received USTFCCCA All-West Region honors after earning the top weight throw mark in the region.

Athletes qualify for all-region honors in an event by earning a top five mark during the 2025 indoor season. Cooper exceeded that benchmark, with the top weight throw mark in the west region during this past indoor season. The sophomore achieved a high mark of 16.85m (55'3.5"), set at the 2025 Myrle Hanson Open on January 25th at Black Hills State. That mark also broke MSUB's school record at the meet, and sits ninth all-time on the GNAC's list of top marks.

The accolade adds to a list of honors received by Cooper this indoor season. The specializing in jumps and throws, Cooper smashed the school high jump record for indoor multiple times, with her mark of 1.70m (5' 7") narrowly missing out on earning her a second all-region honor. Cooper also earned All-GNAC honors in both the weight throw and high jump at the GNAC Indoor Championships with a pair of second place finishes, as is set to compete at the top of the conference once again in the 'Jackets upcoming spring season, where she already holds the school record mark for outdoor high jump.

Cooper and the Yellowjackets are set to open their outdoor season on Saturday, March 15 at the Yellowjacket/Battlin' Bears Icebreaker Open, hosted at Lockwood High School.
