PORTLAND, Ore. – After helping the Montana State University Billings men's basketball team extend it's winning streak to four games with a pair of victories last week, Brendon Johnson was recognized with GNAC Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

The Livingston, Montana native led the Yellowjackets in scoring in each of the team's contests last week, ands was hyper efficient from the field, shooting 12-16 (75%) from the field, 7-11 (64%) from three-point range, and 8-9 (89%) from the free throw line across both games. Johnson opened the week by helping the Yellowjackets produce a statement win over #25 Saint Martin's, dropping 20 points on 6-9 shooting, and collecting nine rebounds. The senior forward also dished out four assists and pocketed three steals in an impressive all-around performance, guiding the 'Jackets to their third consecutive win. He would then help MSUB extend that streak to four in a runaway victory over Western Oregon, pacing the team again with 19 points, while adding five rebounds, two assists, and a steal, and missing only one shot attempt in the game. In total last week, Johnson averaged 19.5 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game.

HEAR FROM COACH FENNELLY: "Brendon's skill level was on full display last week. He not only was an efficient scorer for us but also rebounded and passed the ball very well. His versatility was really a difference maker during our home-stand so hopefully we can build on that as we hit the road this week."

UP NEXT: The Yellowjackets (15-9, 6-5 GNAC) look to continue their winning ways on the road, rematching against Western Washington on Thursday, February 6 against Western Washington at 8 PM MT (7 PM PT) and Saturday, February 8 against Simon Fraser at 8 PM MT (7 PM PT).
