Jack Nehler Named GNAC Baseball Player of the Week

| By:
PORTLAND, Ore.- After helping lead the Montana State University Billings baseball team to a 3-1 series win over CSU Pueblo, Jack Nehler was named GNAC Player of the Week, released earlier this afternoon. After improving to 6-3 on the season, the Yellowjackets marked their best start to a season since 2020.

The Gresham, Oregon native had one of the most efficient weekends of hitting to date. Nehler went 9-15 from the plate with two doubles which was good for a .600 batting average and a .733 slugging percentage while drawing four walks and a hit by pitch. In 21 total plate appearances, Nehler struck out just one time, helping him post an incredible .700 on base percentage. The junior also tallied four RBIs and five runs on the offensive end and played error free defense in 29 chances while helping the Yellowjackets turn four double plays.

HEAR FROM COACH WADDOUPS: "It is great to have an intelligent quality hitter like Jack Nehler in the top part of our order. He had an outstanding weekend with clutch at bats across the board. It was great to see him take what the game gave him whether it was drawing a walk or driving in runs. Jack had a great weekend and was really locked in at the plate while making several great plays on defense. He is just one of those players that makes our lineup and our defense better by how he plays the game."

UP NEXT: The Montana State University Billings baseball team heads back to Colorado for some more Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition. The Yellowjackets will take on the Regis University Rangers in a four-game series, starting on February 13th at 2:00 PM.
