PORTLAND, Ore. – After opening the 2025-26 indoor season last Thursday at the Bobcat Preview, the Montana State University Billings men's track & field received its first Athlete of the Week selection on the season, with thrower
Kody Biggs receiving GNAC Field Athlete of the Week honors.
It marked the first career Athlete of the Week selection for Biggs, a sophomore from Kuna, Idaho, who began his second season of action with the Yellowjackets in stellar fashion to build upon a promising freshman campaign last season.
"Kody has worked hard this fall and is making huge improvements with the weight throw," said MSUB head coach
Jonathan Woehl. "On Thursday he was able to put it all together."
Biggs competed in both the shot put and the weight throw in Bozeman last week, competing well in both events. His performance in the weight throw would be a highlight for MSUB at the meet, where he would qualify for the finals in the event, finishing in sixth place with a best throw of 16.42m (53' 10.5"). That throw would not only be a personal best for Biggs, but would also rank as the third best weight throw mark in MSUB program history. Biggs would post a mark of 13.09m (42' 11.5") in the shot put, just .03m off of matching his indoor PR in the event, and would take 14
th overall in the meet.
Following the holiday break, Biggs and the Yellowjackets are set to return to competition at the BHSU Indoor Meet hosted by Black Hills State University on January 17, 2026.
