landdeckPORTLAND, Ore.- After powering the Montana State University Billings men's basketball team to an undefeated weekend, senior guard Mason Landdeck has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his outstanding play at the D2 CCA Tipoff Classic at the Trailhead.

The Yellowjackets opened their season in dominant fashion, earning a 91-67 win over New Mexico Highlands, an 80-75 victory over Central Missouri, and a 100-80 win against the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Landdeck was at the heart of it all, earning Player of the Game honors in the team's opener, being selected to the Tipoff Classic All-Tournament Team, named Tournament MVP, and ultimately recognized as the GNAC Player of the Week.

"Mason was a vital for our teams success over the weekend," said head coach Luke Fennelly. "He really sets the pace for our team on both sides of the ball. He did well picking spots to score but also getting everyone else involved in the offense as well. I am just really proud of our team effort and leadership over the three-game span."

Landdeck, a transfer senior from Cashmere, Washington, totaled 59 points across the three games (averaging 19.7 points per game), shooting 35% from three-point range and 79% from the free-throw line. His ability to draw contact was key, as he sank 22 of 28 free-throw attempts throughout the weekend.

Beyond scoring, Landdeck contributed in every area of the game. In an average of 32.5 minutes per contest, he recorded 17 assists, seven rebounds, and seven steals. His standout performance came against New Mexico Highlands, where he poured in 28 points on 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and 15-of-19 from the line, while adding three assists, three rebounds, and a steal.

UP NEXT: The Yellowjackets head to Hawaii for the GNAC/PacWest Crossover Tournament, hosted by the University of Hawaii at Hilo. MSUB will face the host team on November 14 at 11:00 p.m. (MT), followed by a matchup with Westmont College on November 15 at 9:00 p.m. (MT).
