Kael Robinson Named GNAC Player of the Week

PORTLAND, Ore.- After helping lead the Montana State University Billings men's basketball team to a pair of wins over Alaska Fairbanks and Alaska Anchorage, Kael Robinson was named GNAC Player of the Week, released earlier this afternoon.

Robinson was the driving force in the Yellowjackets 2-0 week over both Alaskan schools. The senior forward led the GNAC in scoring last week, totaling 49 points which was good for 24.5 points per game while shooting an incredible 63.3 percent from the field. The Hamilton, New Zealand native also tallied 15 rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and two steals while turning it over just once in the two-game stretch.

HEAR FROM COACH FENNELLY: "Kael really stepped-up last week to help us earn two hard fought wins. He's asked to do a lot, and he works his tail off so its nice to see him earn the recognition he deserves. Not only was he an efficient scorer, but he was a stud on the defensive end as well. Proud of the toughness he and the rest of the team showed last week, especially now that we are headed into the second round of conference play."

Robinson had a season high 26-point performance with nine rebounds in their 83-70 victory over Fairbanks, but where he single handed added another win for the Yellowjackets was against Anchorage. After a slow start, scoring just four in the first half, Robinson scored 19 of MSUB's 38 second half points to lead them to a 66-64 victory.
