BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State University Billings Athletic Department announced the achievements of it's 262 student-athletes in the classroom during the fall 2024 semester, with it's 15 athletic programs earning a cumulative 3.26 GPA in the past semester.
 
"I would like to congratulate our student-athletes on this achievement and upholding our standard of academic performance," said Director of Athletics Michael Bazemore. "This is a priority for our department and I would like to thank our coaches, faculty members, instructors, academic support center, advisors, and administrators for the resources they provide our student-athletes to aide in this achievement."
 
188 Yellowjacket student-athletes finished the fall semester earning a GPA of a 3.0 or higher, with 38 of those student-athletes earning a perfect 4.0 GPA. In addition to those numbers, a total of 53 student-athletes earned all A's or A-'s in the fall semester. Yellowjacket Athletics also had six degree candidates from the fall semester.
 
In total, all of MSUB's women's sports would combine for an average GPA of 3.36, while the men's sports earned an average GPA of 3.17. The department's team GPA's were led by MSUB women's basketball, who earned a cumulative 3.76 GPA. They were followed by softball, who's student-athletes averaged a 3.64 GPA, and women's soccer, who averaged a 3.50 GPA in the fall 2024 semester. The Yellowjacket baseball program finished with the highest GPA of any men's team in the department, collecting a 3.41 GPA. They were narrowly followed by women's golf and volleyball, whose student-athletes earned a 3.40 and 3.37 combined GPA respectively. Rounding out the department's team GPA's over 3.0 was men's soccer with a 3.28, men's track & field with a 3.12, and co-ed cheer & stunt with a 3.06.
