MSUB Baseball Saw Four Players Earn Academic All-District Honors

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Montana State University Billings Yellowjacket baseball team saw four of its student athletes earn CSC Academic All-District recognition.
 
The College Sports Communicators recognized Andy Evans, Cy Miller, Beau Burnett, and Kaden Kirshenbaum to the 2024 Academic All-District team. To receive the honor, players must meet an innings pitched or innings played threshold while also maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better.  
Andy Evans met the requirement confidently, holding a 3.92 cumulative GPA while majoring in Chemistry. Evans made 13 appearances on the year, starting in four of them while throwing 31 complete innings for the Yellowjackets and totaled 16 strikeouts. After recently being named Academic All-GNAC, Evans earned All-District recognition for the first time in his career.
 
Cy Miller, who is working towards a Health & Human Performance degree with an emphasis in performance held a 3.66 cumulative GPA and made quite an impact on the mound this season. The lefty earned a GNAC Pitcher of the Week award and made nine appearances, including seven starts on the year. Miller totaled 39.1 innings pitched with 26 strikeouts, one complete game, and two wins.
 
Beau Burnett, a Business Administration major with a 3.55 cumulative GPA was also one of the top arms on the Yellowjacket pitching staff in the 2024 season. Burnett earned a GNAC Player of the Week recognition (April 8-14th) and will now add Academic All-District to his resume. Burnett had the second-best ERA of the team (4.67) in 34.2 innings of work and totaled 30 strikeouts and five wins.
 
Kaden Kirshenbaum, a Business Administration major with a 3.54 cumulative GPA added yet another award to his 2024 resume. In just one year, Kirshenbaum has been named Academic All-District, Academic All-GNAC, NCBWA First Team All-West Region, First Team All-GNAC, NCBWA West Region Player of the Week (Feb. 19-25), and GNAC Player of the Week (Feb. 19-25). Kirshenbaum found himself in a utility role, bouncing from third base and right field. The junior slugger slashed .299/.594/.391 in 147 at bats with 11 doubles and 10 home runs.
