COEUR D'ALENE, Ida. - Highlighting the Montana State University Billings Yellowjacket women's golf team at the GNAC Championships,
Tatum York-Bement led the 'Jackets with a T-17
th place individual finish. MSUB finished the conference tournament with a total gross team score of 680 (337-343), coming in 5
th place out of the five teams competing.
HEAR FROM BUIE: "It's been a trying year for the women, we have been fighting injuries all spring but despite all of that the team has been upbeat and have never quit all week. With no seniors on the team and several new pieces coming in, next season has the potential for a great season."
York-Bement had the best individual finish for the Yellowjackets, tying for 17
th place overall with a two-round gross score of 169 (84-85). Following York-Bement was true freshman
Chloe Van Strien who had tied her best overall placement. After shooting an 88 in the opening round, Van Strien shaved off five strokes in the final round to shoot a total of 171 (88-83), coming in 21
st place among the 25 women competing.
Coming in 22
nd place was
Hannah Adams who shot a tournament low (82) for the Yellowjackets in the opening round and ended the tournament with a total score of 172 (82-90). Just one stroke behind was
Adessa Lundberg who came into the clubhouse in 23
rd place and a two-round gross score of 173 (88-85). Rounding it out for the 'Jackets was
Haylee Adams who had a total gross score of 174 (83-91), coming in 24
th place overall.
THE BUZZ: Tatum York-Bement was named Intermountain Health Player of the Tournament after leading the Yellowjackets with a T-17
th place finish and a two-round gross score of 169 (84-85).
