LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz.-
The Montana State University Billings Yellowjacket women's golf team finished competition at the SMSU Challenge at the Wigwam Golf Course in Arizona. The 'Jackets had a top-10 team finish in a tournament that included 12 teams and 77 total golfers.
The 'Jackets finished their two round, two day tournament with a score of 687. They had a first round score of 343 followed by a second round score of 344. The 'Jackets finished more than 20 strokes better than the two teams below them, but were only two strokes off an 8th place finish.
"I was proud with how the team competed while being down a few key players," said head golf coach
Adam Buie. "We are continuing to focus on getting better and we are fortunate to have another event down here in Goodyear (Arizona). Wigwam is a great resort and is in great shape, so hopefully we can improve on these rounds and have lower scores in the next event."
Hannah Adams was the top golfer for the 'Jackets, finishing T-27th while shooting +18 for the tournament, only 6 strokes off a top-10 finish.
Hannah Adams shot 82-80, good for a two-round score of 162. Following Hannah was her twin sister
