LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - Highlighting the Montana State University Billings Yellowjacket women's golf team at the SMSU Spring Invitational,
Hannah Adams leads the Yellowjackets to an 8
th place finish behind her career best 76 round two finish.
"It was nice to finish our last event at Wigwam on a good note," said head coach
Adam Buie. "We shot our lowest scores of the week 334-328 and shot 25 shots better than the second tournament which was also on the Blue Course. We have about three weeks to prepare for the NNU Nighthawk Challenge and after that is the GNAC Tournament."
Hannah Adams bounced back from a +15 (87) in the opening round with a +4 (76) in the final round to score a team best 163. Adams led the 'Jackets on the overall leaderboard as well with a T-28
th place finish among the field of 71 total golfers.
Right on her tail was her sister
Haylee Adams who finished T-31 after posting a two-round total of 164 (81-83). Just one stroke behind Adams was
Adessa Lundberg in T-35 who shot a personal best (78) in the opening round of the tournament. Lundberg closed out the tournament with a total gross score of 165 (78-87).
Rounding it out for the Yellowjackets was true freshman
Chloe Van Strien in T-43 with a two-round score of 170 (88-82), and
Meilyn Armstrong in 65
th place with a total gross score of 178 (91-87).
THE BUZZ: Hannah Adams was named Intermountain Health Player of the Tournament after shooting a career best (76) and leading the Yellowjackets with a T-28 finish.
UP NEXT: The Montana State University Billings Yellowjacket women's golf team has a three week break before heading to Nampa, ID for the NNU Nighthawk Challenge on April 12
th.
