LACEY, Wash. – The Montana State University Billings men's soccer team defeated the Saint Martin's Saints in dominating fashion Thursday afternoon, sporting a 4-0 victory. The Jackets' previously defeated the Saints in Billings on October 10
th with a secure 5-0 win.
The two squads were evenly matched through the first twenty minutes of the game, with only one shot being taken by the Saints that sailed over the net in the 8
th minute. But the Jackets' would soon strike first in the 21
st minute on a goal by
So Nagano, who floated a shot over the head of the Saints' goalie on a free kick from
Guillermo Gonzalez near the Jackets' own goal. The goal marks Nagano's team-leading 6
th on season. The Jackets' would double their lead three minutes later on a goal by junior
Ryan Hanley, perfectly placing a shot from the right side of the goalie box in the top left corner of the net. The score would remain 2-0 for the remainder of the half. MSUB goalie

The second half started as a back-and-forth battle similar to the first half. The Jackets' spent a majority of the time in the offensive zone, with
So Nagano and
Matteo Bosch recording a shot on goal. They would finally cash in to bring the lead to three on a goal right in front of the net by
Bjarne Fedkenhauer, who poked a shot in off a short pass from
Rene Tello. Fedkenhauer would score again in the 77
th minute to cap off the victory for the Jackets' with a free kick shot just outside the goalie box, pinning it in the top left corner.
The two-goal game is Bjarne's first of his Yellowjacket career, as well as a career high shots-on-goal with three.
So Nagano also moves into a tie at second in the conference in goals scored with 6 this season.
With the win today, the Jackets sit in a four way for tie for fourth place in the conference, behind Western Oregon who they will face in Monmouth this Saturday.
