Goodyear, Ari. – The Montana State University Billings women's golf team finished the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on Saturday, ending the weekend in 23
rd place after shooting a team score of 673 (343-330).
The tournament's team title was won by West Texas A&M, while the individual winner was Sofia Benavides of Oklahoma Christian.
Competing at Palm Valley Golf Club, the Yellowjackets were paced by
Brennan Larson and
Aubree Mitchum, who shot a 167. Larson (83-84) finished the tournament with three birdies, all coming in the first round of play, while Mitchum had two birdies and an eagle, finishing the most holes at par or under for MSUB in the tournament.
Behind them was
Haylee Adams, who shot a 168 (88-80) over the two days. Adams had one birdie, scoring it on hole seven in the first round, the only hole the Yellowjackets had multiple birdies on as a team.
Adessa Lundberg shot a score of 176 (92-84), improving eight stokes between round one and two. Lundberg had three birdies in the tournament.
Hannah Adams finished day one with a score of 87, before withdrawing before the start of round two. Adams had four birdies in the first round, including three on the back nine.
THE BUZZ: Mitchum was selected as the St. Vincent Healthcare Golfer of the Meet.
