PORTLAND, Ore. – After helping lead the Montana State University Billings women's basketball team to a 2-0 opening weekend of conference play, forward Dyauni Boyce was selected as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
 
It's the second career Player of the Week selection for Boyce, who earned her first career selection last season. The junior set a new career high in scoring on Thursday with 29 points against Alaska Anchorage, helping the Yellowjackets pick up the 83-68 win in their conference opener. She shot 8-13 from the field, including going 4-5 from three, and hit 9-10 free throws in the game. Boyce followed that up with a quality performance in MSUB's runaway 88-40 win over Alaska Fairbanks, scoring 11 points in just 19 minutes, to go with a trio of rebounds and assists in the game.
 
"Dyauni is very deserving of this GNAC award," said MSUB head coach Kevin Woodin. "She is having an excellent season thus far.  She has improved her game on both ends of the court and her versatility is so important for our team. Dyauni can score from anywhere on the court and she has also improved her passing and defense. Dyauni was voted to be one of our team captains this year and I believe her added responsibility as a team leader has helped her too. I feel very fortunate to work with her daily."
 
Boyce and the Yellowjackets play two games at home this week against in-state opponents, playing Montana Western on Friday before taking on Rocky Mountain College for the second time this season. Live coverage of all MSUB women's basketball games can be found here.
