PORTLAND, Ore. – Capping off an excellent week in which the Montana State University Billings women's soccer team went undefeated in two games, midfielder Erika Wilson was honored as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
 
It's the first career Player of the Week selection for Wilson, who played every minute in the Yellowjacket's two games last week, a win over #24 Western Oregon, and a draw against Saint Martin's. The sophomore midfielder scored the game-winning penalty in the Yellowjacket's 2-1 victory over the Wolves, running things in the midfield and helping to create opportunities for her teammates as the Yellowjackets pulled off the upset. She continued her influential performance Saturday against the Saints on Saturday, picking up an assist on MSUB's goal in the 1-1 tie.
 
"Erika is a smart, hardworking player who leads by example," said Yellowjackets head coach Abiye Jack. "She thrives in competitive environments, and is someone who consistently brings a level of quality to our team that elevates everyone around her."
 
Wilson and the Yellowjackets (2-4-3, 1-3-2 GNAC) remain in Billings for a pair of games at Yellowjacket Field this next week, facing off against Western Washington on Thursday, October 12 at 4 PM, and Seattle Pacific on Saturday, October 14 at 3 PM.
