BILLINGS, Mont. – Hosting it's annual Elementary School game at Alterowitz Gym, the Montana State University Billings women's basketball team finished it's first preseason game victorious, taking down Montana Tech 84-54.
"It was a lot of fun today," said Yellowjacket head coach
Kevin Woodin. "I'm really happy that we're able to do the elementary game. We were able to visit the schools last week and build a relationship with those students, and the principals and staff are great people. We're thankful that they came out to support us, and today was a total success."
The enthusiasm from off the court from the young fans in attendance was replicated on the court by the 'Jackets, who started the game on an 11-2 run, and only growing that lead as the game went on, finishing their first competition of the season with victory.
"I thought we played well at times, Tech is a hard team to guard, and they spread you out, but overall I think our team played well for this time of year, and we'll look to keep moving forward from here."
Aspen Giese finished as the Yellowjacket's top scorer in the game, scoring 16 points to go with four rebounds, three steals, and a pair of assists. Meanwhile
