BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bringing the 2022 fall season to an end on Tuesday at Bellingham Golf & Country Club, the Montana State University Billings women's golf team completed the Western Washington University Invitational.
 
The Yellowjackets shot a two-round team score of 692 (340-352) and finished in 16th place among the field of 16 competitors on the par-72, 5,928-yard course.
 
Leading the way for the Yellowjackets was freshman Hannah Adams, who tied for 68th place with a two-round total of 168 (82-86). Adams carded 16 pars throughout the tournament, and her 82 in Round 1 on Monday was her second-best score of the 2022 fall season.
 
Haylee Adams finished the event with a two-round total of 172 (79-93), and tied for 77th place. Adams had MSUB's best single-round score of the tournament, carding a 79 on Monday including a birdie on her second hole, the par-4, 380-yard ninth. Adams' 79 was one stroke off her season low of 78, which she set last week at the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational.
 
Adessa Lundberg tied for 81st place, posting a two-round score of 176 (91-85). Lundberg was MSUB's most improved golfer between rounds, cutting off six strokes and making her lone birdie in Round 2 on the par-4, 308-yard 16th hole. Matching Lundberg's score was reigning Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week Brennan Larson, who also tied for 81st with a score of 176 (88-88).
 
Karissa Tranas also competed for the 'Jackets, and finished in 87th place with a two-round total of 192 (91-101).
 
Dominican University and University of British Columbia tied for the team title at the event, each shooting a two-round total of 598. DU's Claire Shubin shot a 141 (72-69) to win the title by four strokes.
 
THE BUZZ: Hannah Adams was selected as the St. Vincent Healthcare Player of the Day.
 
AHEAD: The Yellowjacket women face Rocky Mountain College in the annual Leslie Spalding Cup, scheduled for Oct. 20-22 in Billings. The 2023 spring schedule of tournaments will be released in the coming weeks.
