BILLINGS, Mont. – Though they maintained a lead most of the night, the Montana State University Billings men's basketball team missed out on an upset bid as they fell 76-74 to No. 23 Saint Martin's University Thursday night at Alterowitz Gymnasium in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game.
Tyler Green and
Brendan Howard each had 17 points and the Yellowjackets led by as many as 18 points in the first half, but stingy defense by the Saints down the stretch were just enough to hold off MSUB.

"It was a great effort by our guys tonight," commented head coach

Zack Rollins to drive up the floor for a quick hitting three to get the 'Jackets to within a pair. With 5.2 seconds remaining,
Zharon Richmond forced a long shot through traffic but missed at the buzzer for MSUB, leaving SMU in front by two.
Both teams scored 13 second chance points but SMU had a slight edge in points off turnovers 18-15. The Yellowjackets struggled from the free throw line and made 13 of 20 (65-percent) while the Saints connected on 15 of 21 (71-percent).
