PORTLAND, Ore. – Playing as the home team in Portland, Ore., the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets (19-18, 9-7 GNAC) earned a 4-1 victory over the Western Washington Vikings (12-27, 6-14 GNAC). The win completes a four-game sweep of the Vikings three weeks after the 'jackets won all three games of a triple header in Billings earlier this season.
It is the first time the 'Jackets have swept the Vikings since 2009 and MSUB's first sweep of a conference opponent since 2015.
Heather Tracy and Amada Barham were both perfect at the plate in the win as the duo went a combined 5-for-5. Maddi Lincoln (10-10, 3.45 ERA) did the rest for the

Yellowjackets as the sophomore completed seven innings allowing six hits and one run while fanning six batters.
Tracy was 3-for-3 in the game and tied the MSUB single-season record for steals in the first inning. Following a leadoff single on the first pitch in the bottom of the first, Tracy stole her 19th base of the year to tie Jessica Frank (2008). With singles in the third and fourth innings, Tracy raised her batting average to .527 on the year.
Barham was 2-for-2 on the night and recorded the Yellowjackets only extra-base hit with an RBI-triple in the fourth inning that scored
Allie Hughes. It was the third triple of Barham's career and her second this season.
Megan Dettling was responsible for driving in the first runs of the game as the senior plated Tracy and Barham with a single to left field in the bottom of the third inning. Dettling's hit was the only know for the Yellowjackets not recorded by Tracy or Barham.
Lincoln gave up two hits in each the second, fourth and fifth inning but only allowed a run in the fourth. After a leadoff single, Shearyna Labasan went first-to-third on a Paityn Cyr base hit and later scored on a sacrifice fly.
Hughes reached on a walk in the fourth inning before scoring on Barham's triple to give the 'Jackets a 3-1 lead. Tracy's third single plated Barham and made it 4-1 MSUB.
Lincoln retired 6 of 7 batters to end the game and struck out the final two Vikings to come to the plate. Lincoln is the first 10-game winner for the 'Jackets since
Jessyka MacDonald won 21 games in 2015.
Action continues tomorrow at 12 p.m. Pacific time as the 'Jackets play the first of two doubleheaders in Monmouth, Ore. against the Western Oregon Wolves (22-20, 10-10 GNAC).
