Ellensburg, Wash. – Dropping two more games on Sunday, the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets (10-14, 2-6 GNAC) were on the wrong end of a four game sweep against the Central Washington Wildcats (10-4, 4-0 GNAC) in the second week of Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. The Wildcats started the day with a 10-0 win before scoring another 10 runs in the 10-2 afternoon victory.
Both of Sunday's games lasted just five innings as MSU Billings was outplayed both at the plate and in the field. The 'Jackets collected just one hit in Game 1 while getting five in Game 2. For the second day in a row, MSUB recorded six errors in during the Game 1 loss.
It is the first time the 'Jacked suffer back-to-back abbreviated losses since 2016 when they ended a series with a six-inning loss to Saint Martin's and started the following weekend with a five-inning loss to Western Washington.
The pair of losses puts MSUB on a season-long four-game losing streak and this marks the first winless weekend of the season for the 'Jackets. Central Washington was the last team to sweep the Yellowjackets as they took all four games in Billings last season. In total, CWU has defeated MSUB in the past 13 meetings.
Heather Tracy had her 27-game hit streak ended in Sunday's first game. The senior only had two plate appearances in the game due to MSUB being held to a single hit. Her remarkable start to the season set a new MSUB record and has her hitting .517 through 24 games this season.
Myrissa Prince delivered the 'Jackets only hit of Game 1 in the fifth inning with two outs preventing the 'Jackets from being no-hit.
Cameron Cassinelli had previously drawn a walk in the fifth to end a perfect game by CWU's Lexie Strasser.
Game 1: Central Washington 10, MSU Billings 0 (5 Innings)
A dominate pitching performance from Central Washington's Lexie Strasser held the 'Jackets to just one hit on 59 pitches in the five inning 10-0 win. In the bottom of the first, the Yellowjackets committed five errors that led to four runs for the Wildcats off of two hits.
Maddy Lincoln (6-7, 3.61 ERA) had the start for MSUB and gave up only four of the nine runs scored over her 2.1 innings of work. She finished the game with one strikeout,

three walks and four hits allowed.
Megan Dettling finished the game in the circle allowing one run on three hits in 1.2 innings.
The Yellowjackets were held without a baserunner until the fifth inning when Cassinelli drew a walk. Still searching for their first hit of the game with two outs in the top of the fifth, Prince collected a single through the right side to avoid the no-hit shutout.
Central Washington had just seven hits in the game and one extra base hit, a double from Julia Reuble in the third inning. Reuble had a game-high two RBI in the contest and scored a run while finishing the day 1-for-2. Theresa Moyle was the only Wildcat with multiple hits as CWU made multiple substitutions after gaining the 9-0 lead.
Game 2: Central Washington 10, MSU Billings 2 (5 Innings)
Central Washington's offense was quick to score in the 10-2 Game 2 as well. CWU plated their first run of the game with the fourth batter in the bottom of the first.
Haley Couch (2-4, 5.40 ERA) saw two more runs score in the inning before being relieved by
Megan Dettling with MSUB trailing 3-0 in the first.
MSU Billings had a better showing at the plate with both Cassinelli and Prince getting singles in the second inning but the rally was short lived and did not produce a run.
The Wildcats were back in command in the third inning with two more runs extending their lead to 5-0. A single and a walk to start off the inning produced runs off of an RBI-single and a sacrifice fly later in the order.
Allie Hughes woke up the MSUB bats in the fifth inning with a leadoff double for the Yellowjackets marking the first extra-base hit of the day. Another double from
Kelsee Bushell scored the first run for the 'Jackets. It was Bushell's fourth double of the series after the junior tied an MSUB record with three doubles in the second game of

Saturday's doubleheader.
Shayla Felix scored Bushell in the very next at-bat as the MSUB backstop drove a single through the left side of the infield making it 5-2.
Four walks paired with three Wildcat hits plated five CWU runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game. After starting the inning with a groundout, Dettling walked the next two batters and a CWU rally ensued. A single loaded the bases for the Wildcats before they went on to score five runs in the frame to secure the win via eight-run rule.
The 'Jackets are off next week as they prepare to travel to the Tournament of Champions in Turlock, Calif. from March 23-25. MSUB will play six games in the tournament before returning home to open their home schedule against Western Washington on March 30.
