ST. GEORGE, Utah - After a big day at the plate yesterday of 26 hits, the MSUB softball team's offense stalled in their game against Hawaii Hilo, as the Yellowjackets fell 4-1 in the last game of the Dixie State tournament held at Canyons Softball Complex Sunday.
The Yellowjackets shut-out Hawaii Hilo during their first game on Friday, but in a turnaround of events, MSUB couldn't find footing in the box, ending the day with four total hits. The Yellowjackets also had four errors in the field and left four runners on base.
Second baseman
Myrissa Prince had two of those four hits, going 2-for-3. Third baseman
Kelsey Devlin had a double and was 1-for-3. Outfielder
Cori Gammon also had a hit.
Hawaii Hilo plated one run in the first and seventh and two in the sixth inning.

Jessica Bagnell struck a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning that scored
Alyssa Yaeger who had gone in to pinch run after a Prince single. MSUB had two runners on base in the bottom of the seventh, but were unable to add to the total.
"Amanda threw a great game for us today and unfortunately we were unable to support her offensively," MSUB head coach Rebekah Gasner said. "We've been on the road for twelve days now and I think it finally caught up to us. Now we just need to go home, rest, and gear more mentally and physically ready for our long spring break trip against our GNAC opponents."
