Women’s Basketball Hosts Carroll College

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State Billings Women's Basketball team will host two games this week at home.  They will play host to Carroll College this Friday, and then a special Alumni game on Saturday afternoon.

First up for the Yellowjackets (6-3, 1-1 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) is a game against fellow Montana school, Carroll College.  MSUB hasn't faced Carroll in ten years, the last time the two met was in 2003 when MSU Billings won the contest at home 63-52.

"It will be nice to be at home this weekend after last week in Alaska and final exams during the week," Head Coach Kevin Woodin said.

Last week Montana State Billings split a pair of conference contests, losing to Alaska Anchorage 59-90, but coming back two days later to get the win against Alaska Fairbanks 83-46.

For MSU Billings, Bobbi Knudsen is currently leading the team, averaging 13.4 points and 5.5 assists per game.  Kayleen Goggins is averaging 12.9 points.  Janiel Olson is the team's top rebounder averaging 7.4 rebounds a game.

Carroll College's (6-3, 0-1 Frontier Conference) last game was Dec. 8 where they blew out Walla Walla University 89-20.  Bailey Snelling was the Saints leading scorer.  She had 14 points, including 4-6 from three-point territory with five assists and two steals.  Katie Estey had 13 points including three three-pointers, and Allison Sullivan had 11 points.  Jordan Bagley and Mikala Osborne each had six of Carroll's 45 rebounds.

"Carroll is very fundamentally sound and they represent a great challenge for our team," Coach Woodin stated.  "We will need to play consistent on both ends of the court."

MSU Billings is 37-7 all-time against Carroll College.  They are 22-4 at home.  The Yellowjackets have won the last 14 games against the Saints.

Montana State Billings will host Carroll College Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 PM.  Live video and live stats will be available at MSUBSports.com.  Admission to Friday night's contest will be ½ priced with the donation of a non-perishable food item.  All donated items will go to the High School Food Pantry, a local organization that supports families in the Billings community.
